Electronic Metrology Laboratory, LLC (EML) was founded in April 1997 as a sub-chapter S corporation in Bowling Green, Kentucky by Sam A Isbell, Jr. and V. Scott Barlow.

EML's business plan was to sell, repair and calibrate test and measurement equipment to the wireless communications industry. The business initially employed one technician.

In October 1997, the business was moved to Franklin, Tennessee with the thought that a nationally recognized area (Nashville) would increase market share and provide more choices for our workforce.

Equipment sales provided the main source of revenue for several years as EML used profits to build its repair and calibration laboratory infrastructure. Technicians were hired to handle increasing workload.

EML was changed from a sub-chapter S corporation to a limited liability company in 1999.

Automated test equipment utilizing custom programs written by EML personnel were introduced in 2000 significantly increasing production.

In October 2001, the business was moved to our current location at 318 Seaboard Lane / Suite 106 also in Franklin, Tennessee. The 4,600 sq ft facility includes executive office space, conference and lunch rooms, shipping/receiving and warehouse space, approximately 1,500 sq ft of calibration and repair laboratory space and a 500 sq ft environmentally controlled room for high end mechanical calibration.

In 2002, EML added mechanical calibration to our product offering citing diversification into a wider range of calibration disciplines as a key to continued success.

In March 2003, EML launched its onsite calibration service to provide the same quality calibration services to our customers at their facilities. Demand for onsite calibration services saw steady growth in 2003 and 2004, such that a second mobile calibration trailer is to be placed in service by January 2005.

EML is an American Indian owned company and in September 2004 the U.S. Small Business Administration certified EML as an 8(a) BD and DBE company. Soon after, in November of 2004, EML's Quality Management System was registered to ISO 9001:2008 by Quality System Registrars and in 2008 EML gained 17025 accreditation from A2LA.

Currently EML employs 11 full-time and 1 part-time employees. EML sells and services test equipment in all 50 states and globally to some of the largest corporations in the world. EML plans to increase its market share in the highly competitive calibration industry by promoting our Quality Management System and by implementing aggressive marketing campaigns in mechanical, mobile and onsite calibration. Additionally, our SBA certifications will be used to diversify our business plan into the federal contracting arena.
